About
Esther Keresztes

I am a professional, highly qualified and experienced music teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience and a lifelong enthusiasm for musical education. After receiving my Master’s Diploma in Music Performance and Teaching, I continued my studies at the Doctoral School of Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary; where I obtained my PhD in Music (DLA – Doctor of Liberal Arts). Following this, I started teaching as a university teacher at the Music Department of the University of Szeged, preparing students for their diploma performances and several music competitions. Besides teaching, I regularly performed at multiple famous concert halls around Europe, in professional settings, with other well-known musicians.
After moving to the UK more than 10 years ago, I have switched to private tutoring, focusing on progressing my students (children and adults alike) on their musical journeys.
My students range from the ages of 6 to 75; from schools such as The Abbey School, Queen Anne’s School, Kendrick School, Reading School, Oratory School, Crosfields School, St. Joseph’s College, Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre, The Heights Primary School, Caversham Primary School and Emmer Green Primary School.
All students have achieved 100% exam success, with exam boards like ABRSM, Trinity College London and RockSchool in both face-to-face and digital examinations.
Piano Lessons
Private piano lessons are available for all ages (children, teenagers and adults) in person in the Caversham Heights area and online as well. Whether you want to learn piano just for fun, or to achieve formal grades or even a diploma, there are lessons available for every purpose. I use different teaching methods, unique to each student, to help them reach their desired goals.
Music Theory Lessons
If you are a beginner to music theory, are looking for a step-by-step walkthrough of the fundamentals of reading and writing music well, or simply desire to gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of music, then you would benefit from my introductory and intermediate music theory lessons, exercises, ear-trainers and exam preparation courses.
